Hey
Currently i have a 1985 300zx with 47,xxx miles so I need an everyday driver to keep my baby in the best shape possible. I am driving my 87 honda accord everyday for now but i wanna get something better and was looking at a 92 sentra here in town. I havn't got to go look at it yet or anything but i was wondering what to look for when I go. Also I have seen several body kits and things for this car and they look very nice but what about performance. Are there many aftermarket parts? I know with the accord you make it yourself or have someone make it for you.
Thanks for you help
Zach.

It really depends on what model the sentra is, for both reliability, power, and aftermarket support. If it's an se-r you should be good to go. They are very reliable, and the only issue that I know of is the tranny has a tendency to develop a problem where it will kick itself out of gear when you're in 5th. Just make sure you check for that. Also make sure it has been redlined often. This probably goes against everything you know, lol, but the way the sr20 works, if the engine isn't brought up to redline atleast once a week or so, the oil doesn't circulate like it should and it starts to build up sludge. This will take away power and cut back a bit on reliability. Those engines are known to easily make it past 300k if the oil is changed like normal and they are treated right. The aftermarket support is great and the engine is all but bulletproof, it can take nearly anything you throw at it.
If it's one of the lower models then it comes with the ga16de. Unfortunately I don't know too much about this engine, though it is supposed to be pretty reliable. It doesn't put out too much power (more economically based), and the aftermarket support could definately be better, but it would be a nice A to B car.

if that sentra comes with a GA16,its still good. Hotshot makes intake, headers, and a turbo for it. There are few exhausts for it,but alot of other parts. I have 1 with 181k miles and it still takes sum cars out there all stock!dont expect much from it stock,it should run bout 17.5+ 1/4 mile with a good driver. Make sure u get a manual,i heard automatic sentras are really weak...but the GA is a bulletproof engine IMO.
