1986 Ranger Fuel problem

I have a 1986 ford ranger 2.3L fuel injected standard.
It was having a hard time starting in the mornings, but once I got it going, it was good for the day. Then it completely died on me. So I changed the wires and plugs, put on a new distrubutor cap, did a compression test that was fine, changed the oil. Still nothing. I then put in a new fuel filter and HP fuel pump. The fuel pump in the tank is whirring. Gas is going into the cartridge the filter rests in. It still will not start. If I add gas to the intake manifold, it will, but dies as soon as the gas is burned up. Does anyone know what my problem is. I am VERY frustrated at this point. I would appreciate any advice.
Thank you

Sounds like the fuel line is clogged.

Both my bronco II's have 2 fuel pumps one in the tank then a booster in the frame.
Check the booster pump, It is usaly located underneath in the frame channel on drivers side. I do believe there is a fuse also for it in the fuse box.
