I'm heading to Montreal over the winter and I was wondering if anyone knew of a cool place to stay. I'm looking for something kind of cheap and in a good location (near the bars). I would appreciate the help.

Montreal is a happening place .. you're bound to find bars pretty much everywhere downtown :). The English quarter of Montreal is expensive, so you might want to stay away from there. Other than that, I'm not too sure .. maybe try Europa (hotel) - near LOTS of bars :).

I suggest the Radisson or Marriott downtown easy access to bars and secure for parking. You bringin your G with you? If so you con hook up with the Nissan Performance club crew here and do alittle cruisin and hangin ;)

cool, but i'm looking for a sort of cheap place, I don't know how expensive rooms are up there. A group of friends and I are taking the trip and we are all a little strapped for cash. I'm not sure if the G is being taken though.

Well I know of some places in the east end of the city..you won't find cheap downtown I can guarantee you that.

I was there last month, and I stayed at the Holiday Inn, right downtown, near the bars, etc.

For reference, it was $160 CDN a night.

I can't wait to go! My friend was telling me about a duty free shop, but that was in Niagra. He said everything is like half off. Do you know if there are any in Montreal. I still have not gotten a place to stay, do you think that I need to make reservation a long time in advanced or what?

2 days in advance is more than enough, the travel/hotel industry isn't exactly happening right now....

Bars we have many..As for strip clubs, the Super Sexe is nice and Chez Paré is very nice. I recommend those 2 places :)
