Purple Lights

I just bought a 2001 Hyundai Accent, 30000 miles, factory warranty, silver, $6000. However, On the hood, there are those windshield wiper lights or whatever. They are purple and after talking to several people, I have begun to wonder if they are illegal in NC. I know that blue is and that is understandable, but this purple could not be confused with blue. I dont even know how to disconnect it if it is illegal. What should I do?

no they are not illegal in NC....u can have underbody neons if u want....but i think they have to be any color except blue and mabey red...but not sure about the red....but no, they're not illegal
