i have a 2000 r/t 5.9 with 20 inch rims and intake header exhaust and chipped ecu and i cant get any traction i step on it and the back end goes every way but straight sure its fun but not all the time now im interested on how you guys keep from going sideways also at the strip im gonna put on so 15 inch rimss with monster slicks would i need to put weight in the back end to keep from spinning or will i be ok.. also i will be spraying nos to give you an idea of amount of traction i will need thanks...

I have noticed that shocks make all the difference in the world as well. I have about 315 RWHP with all the mods I have installed and I purchased a set of Edelbrock shocks. I am pretty impressed how they have helped. Also, if you can get a programmer and have the timing curve set so you have more top end RPMs, which will take a little from the bottom end. It will help you launch a little better.

Its all in how you drive the truck and the tires and the road/track conditions that determines the straightness of the launch....I had a 2000 Dak 4x4 with KRC cams, headers, flowmaster true duals, K&N FIPK and on 31x10.5 bald tires I could launch it straight as an arrow.. it'd bark into 2nd though :D

You probably could use some traction aid devices; slapper-bars, etc.
i have seen some on some posts on the dakota r/t website of people that had put these on their trucks.
Check with Lakewood or Strange Engineering.
hope this helps
