Over Drive Idioot light

I do not have an owners manual so I am hoping someone knows the answer. After I drive for about 5-10 mins the Overdirve/off light begins to flash on & off until I turn the car off. Any ideas? Should I be driving it, until I get it into the shop? Thanx!

I'm assuming your car is a 94GT so you have an AODE. The weakest part of all OD auto's is the ovedrive band. I don't know how many miles you have on your car but the flashing could be the OD band not having the strength to stay applied. Do you feel the tranny shift in and out of OD while driving?

Yea it is a 94gt. It has 165k miles. Just got done rebuilding the engine, I don't know a damn thing about transmiissions. I didn't feel any slipping @ first but now i think its slipping between 2nd & 3rd. Gunna piss me off, I just had it rebilt 3 yrs ago. Thanx for the help.
