Maybe its the starter, or the altenator does the starter make noise when u try to start her up? If its the starter my fathers old remedy for that is to whack the starter with a hammer funny as it sounds it worked for me. The carberator maybe clogged up since its not a Fuel Injected car.

The starter is in the front of the engine. If you climb under the car (might have to jack it up to have clearance), you'll see a big black canister with a smaller black canister on top of it. This is your starter. The little one is the solenoid and the big one is the starter (or maybe it's vice versa). Either way, both has to come off to replace the starter.

The location of it should be on top of the sub-frame in the front of the engine. They are a real bitch to get off without dropping the sub-frame, so it will take some time to take it off and put another one on.

Everyone else on the forums told me you couldn't have a carburetor on a 90' Lumina.

The 90's are EFI, which is fuel injected. I've yet to see a '90 3.1 with a carb
