taking 98+ camaro and upgrading

I'm thinkin of getting a 98 camaro and upgrading it to basically getting a SS or Z28, first of all i need to find a LS1/LT1 engine...which would you suggest? and then, i would need to get a new transmission(what are the 6 speed ones and where would you find em?) and any other things, i found a SS hood scoop which i'll probly put on if it will work, and any other things i'd need to swap?

You'd need an SS spoiler too. As long as you don't put SS badges on it, you'll be alright.

You'd need a donor LS1 and tranny, a T56. A LT1 won't fit in your 98 and newer Camaros/Firebirds.

So LT1 doesnt fit in 98+ camaros? so if i want that i should go for a 97?, and also would a SS hood work on a 97?

LT1's fit 93-97 Camaros, so if you want to swap and LT1, get a base Camaro from 93-97. If your SS hood is a 98-02 SS hood, it's gotta go on a 98-02 Camaro, a 96-97 SS hood fits a 93-97 Camaro.

you also will need the 1LE suspension or something equivilent

Black SS, where can i find a 96-97 SS hood btw? and also, i thought as long as there is enough room under the hood you could get any engine inside the car, just gotta know what to do and/or someone to supervise/do it

You could get one from SLP, a wrecked 96-97 SS, or close equivalents from people like RKSport, etc...
