stock?.... Well, the LS/Vtec has more HP but the GSR has the better tranny.

I think with the extra torque from the LS/VTEC it will probably win. The GSR has a better tranny like Spectre said but I think the LS/VTEC will still come out in top with equal drivers. My .02

ls/vtec should take it.
got the good bottom end, an strong top-end.
could out-drive to a win, but most likely, the ls/vtec would take it.

I have a GSR, and if I were to put a P&P B16A head on it, how would they know it wasn't a 96 or newer?

dude i dunno why people hype up lsvtec so much yes its powerful, but in an integra your still in the 15's especially with ls tranny. lsvtec bottom end is slightly larger with lower compression than the gsr, but other than that its just like a gsr. and with an ls tranny lsvtec would lose to a gsr no question. ls gearing is not made for 1/4 racing and makes the motor lag to get out of gears.

How much Horse does the LS have? i thought it was 120 and the GS-R has 170 so wouldnt that make the GSR overall better and faster? :sly: :smokin:

no im pretty sure that the ls/vtec gets you more than the gsr. 180.

mm sothen the LS would be a better overall buy if i was looking for engine modifications? I wanna build a Teg Sleeper and i guess untill now i thoguht the GS-R was over all better... which shows how dumb i am... what year would also be the best buy im looking to spend 10-14k less i spend more on mods.

i'm a little confused???? wouldn't an ls/vtec be essentially a homemade gs-r engine only with lower compression therefore less hp?
someone said that the ls/vtec had more torque? how? they are both 1.8 L engines, unless lower compression gives you more torque?????

An LS shortblock has a longer stroke, creating more torque, but less RPM. True that they're both 1.8 but the LS has 38 cubic centimetrs of more cylender space because of the longer stroke.
An LS/VTEC would beat a GSR, but think about what would happen if you just put the LS crank in a GSR...it'll beat the LS/vtec, correct???

ls/vtec because of the torque But a turbo LS modded would kill both ls/vtec and gsr turbo.

indeed.
turbo ls is the way to go IMO.

The LS v-tec(1834cc) will make about 180 and the GS-R(1796cc) will have about 170hp with a better tranny. yes the stock GS-R has higher comp ratio than the LS, but when a B16 head is slaped on, the LS/v-tec really has .3 more points in the compression ratio.

haha...cuz i needed a daily driven car that would be reliable w/ out needing extra care. i thought about it, thought about even jus building up the gsr but in the end a stock car jus seemed to fit me for now.
sorta grew outta the whole "gotta be faster than the next guy" phase for now. but jus wait...i've got some plans for the ITR
