Mini Cooper Works vs. 350z

Personally i like the cooper, and i really dislike most asian cars. They have too much plastic paneling, cheap feeling interiors, and are slow. I dont understand why they dont use Mini's or BMW's or Benzes or Porshe's in street racing. Why use an acura and spend eighty grand on suping it up when you can buy a 911 for about the same, if not less, and never have to upgrade a thing on it. It'd Burn any of those cars on the street. So on to the post. What do you think would win in a few laps around laguna seca, a Mini Cooper works or a Nissan 350z?

The 350Z would win.

The new Mini IS a BMW.

If you think Japanese/Asian cars are slow, you obviously don't know much about Japanese/Asian cars.

The Mini Coopers S Works is very fast for such a little car, but it's slower than a 350Z.

PS: If you get a 350Z and spend 80K for tuning the car will be much faster than a Posche Turbo, (I still would prefer the Porsche, they have a unique handling, and a very nice engine sound)

Car and Driver did a shoot out between a bunch of tuners. The mini lagged in everything axcept hot lapping willow springs. It creamed most every car there including V-8's.

Mini in a straight line is not fast high 14's in the 1/4 mile - 350Z low 14's high 13's.

In Autocross the SCCA had deemed the JCW in the same class a Vettes and Vipers in ASP. Which is a prepared class which means the Vipers and Vettes are modded too.

If I find an online copy of the article I will post a link to the shootout. I was amazed the Mini did so well on the road course.

People buy a Cooper S because they want to buy a Cooper S. not a fast sports car.

but I think BMW should engineer a much better engine than the current one. One with out a super charger pushing more ponies than 163 bhp.
