Supra vs 3000GT???

If any of yous new i was woundering what would win out of a 1993 Supra or a 1991 VR4 ???

3000gt should win, but it depends on the driver.

^ :werd: its the simple truth... point of example... in a stock 99 civic ex i beat a porsche carrera...i swear its the truth!! i pulled up on him (younger dude, prolly in his dads car) out of pure boredom and want for some amusement, i started revving on him, he kinda laughed, and reved as well. when the light turned green both of us punched it, hard core, both of us spun tires (his a lil more then the civics ! lol) but he still started to jump ahead of me, however as i went to second gear, i heard a nasty grinding noise, and he suddenly fell behind, which left me flying out in front... making ME and the stock 99 civic ex the winner!!! by all normal means, i was fair and square the winner! however if dumbass there coulda figured out how to shift daddy's car into second, it would have been as u can all guess! so yeh... driver makes a bigger diff than u might think, as rich tard there found out! lol and plus... i just like that story!! :biggrin:

a 91 vr4 has never been known to run faster than 13.8 supra's run 13.5-13.6 so the 1st gen is not faster, but yogs vr4 is as fast as a supra thats when its all on the driver the 95's and up run 13.5 so there just as fast, thats all driver, but 91 vr4 just can't run that fast. not stock.

definately depends on the driver. vr4=awd. supra is rwd so depend on ability to launch (assuming not racing from a roll). also depends on what mods have been done....too many variables.

I belive that a 93 is the fastest year for a supra. it suposed to be low 13's and 0-60 under 5. I haved checked a lot of sites and they are all pretty much the same on car stats. The one i found that is really good is www.car-stats.com (http://). They are really close on stock times. -Eric (3si.org) or (3si.org/forums)--very helpfull 3/s site.

99 vr4 320hp 3700 pounds awd, our launch is gonna hurt the supra in the begining but it will catch up. its a drivers race.

You're all wrong...

91-93 3ks only have 300bhp... 94+ 3ks have 320bhp. (Just make a MBC for $18 and the 1st gen VR4's will run as fast as 2nd gen)

93+ Supras don't run 0-60 under 5 seconds. That's a falacy if I've ever heard one.

Just b/c a supra has a decent amount of support for mods, doesn't mean it's an ultimate "beast". (Far from it) Don't get me wrong, I love supras but when you have 700HP Supra and run low 12's, that's sad. If you can't put the shit to the ground, its not even worth a run.

hey yogs, have u seen that clip of the VR4 (dunno what year) goin against a yellow 93'+ Supra? i have that clips, they started from a stoplight, i can show it to u guys but i dunno how to do that in my computer. All i see is hearing the VR4's nice engine and the VR4 wins, depending if u guys see it like 1/4, but topspeed the Supra had it...but at the end of the clip, the yellow SUpra comes back.

well if u look at the race scene u may see...about...one GTO while about twenty supras...thats souly because they are better machines. dont get me wrong, i love the GTO, but the supra is just a better machine. I've never seen a GTO get into the twelves but i've seen supras get solid 8 second runs!

um, the GTO MR runs 12.5 bone stock, from the factory

but yes the supra is more capable in the 1/4 mile, much more capable

ummm...... never seen a 12sec vr4 :screwy: yeeah umm there are actually 10 second vr4's on earth, not many. quite a few 11 second vr4's and a whole shit load of 12 second vr4's. actually i believe your typing to one. its not hard to shave of .5 sec off of a turbo charged car. especially twin.
but anyway yes i believe that the supra is a better machine myself.

Just remove the nipple from the stock solenoid in the 1st gen 3s and you have the same power as 2nd and 3rd gen cars! Free boost mod!

Remove that same "nipple" from the 2nd gens and you have around 13-14psi. YAY

Out of instinct, id say the 3000GT would win. They both have 320HP, Supra has RW, 3KGT has AWD (advantage there) the 3KGT puts out more torque than the Supra, The Supra weights lighter than the 3KGT though, and I beleive the 3KGT has a more sleek design giving it a small advantage.

BTW, I would rather own a 3KGT because when buying a Supra, the cost of it is ridicioulsly not worth it.

ok you guys saying that a supra cannot do 0-60 in less than 5 seconds need to get there facts straight. I have a 93 issue of Road&Track with the 93 supra tt on the cover. the specs read:
0-60= 4.6(yea thats right bitches)
1/4 = 13.1
top speed= 155
Skidpad= .98
