rev limiter

is there any way i can get my cav to rev higher than 4000 rpms in neutral?

Auto or stick? If auto, your nuts to do a shift from neutral to drive with anything over idle. If you do your will be calling a good transmission shop in the not to distance future.

its an auto and im not trying to neutral drop it im saying like when your next to someone at a red light you rev it up telling him/her lets race, i want it to go higher than 4000 rpms cuz its not loud enough.

well not sure yet how to get rid of the rev limiter, pretty sure it is similar to removeing the govenor, probably controled by the ECU. but rev limiter was put in so morons wont neutral drop and blow the tranny off at the line in autos, and try going back to the service center and get it done under warranty, too many tried to do this already and they just figured this would stop it all together. of course theres no rev limiter in manual trans....if you drop from high rev in manual you only need couple hundred dollars for new clutch.

rev limiter is in the ECU....oh...u know you can put it in neutral while youre moving, and the whole hi rev thing will work right? Just BE CAREFUL, you can still f* up your tranny easily....oh and DO NOT make the mistake of accidentally pushing the shifter one notch too far to the reverse gear while youre moving <especially above like 40 mph>......BIG MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! EXPENSIVE MISTAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ok first yes it has a revlimiter for a reason but if you want to fix that i sugest you geta chip to plug into the ecu that will take off the rev limiter or you can buy specail chips to set the rev limiter a little higher check out jegs.com for revlimiters or other auto places they are out there :iceslolan
