the best upgrade for your engine is a b16a vtec head (30-40hp gain), or else get a turbo (the gains depend of the psi you're getting on aprox 50-80hp gain).

that's it.

bye.

you could lighten your car by gutting it.

go ls/vtec with either the gsr or the b16 head many say the b16 is better but there are people that praise both and i saw a post with a graph that the gsr made almost ten more hp and more tourque. im still searching to which one to use.

the gsr head will give you much better torque than the b16 head.

Buy a cheap 4th gen hatch and put that motor in it with a turbo :iceslolan :naughty: then you can eat a GSR for lunch.

My friend has an ls teg and just a cold air intake alone added some guts. You won't be eating Mustangs any time soon with a stock b18b engine no matter how many bolt-ons you put on it. Get a GSR head swapped in, which you can buy for like $650 or so, and you'll be able to keep up or nudge ahead of them.

Well i have been doin lots of research and found that my engine is a really good engine to trubocharge...so i think i may just go that route...supposively stock LS can run 12psi safely..but ive not actually heard that from someone who has really done it..anyone know??WHat kind of WHP would a stock LS get with 12psi?

I honestly don't know, but believe me it will be enough to push you back into your seat. I'll roughly estimate 250hp-270hp but I could be off. I'm basing those numbers off my friend's Civic EX pushing 9psi and has 220hp, 220tq.

i doubt that you will find a gsr head for 650. i heard that they are really hard to find, and normally are around 1000.

Yea i wont do the LS/Vtec ...im gonna get the rev hard turbo most likely...run 7psi till i get some intenrals done..then who knows...but on stock internals i think i will be safe to turn boost up to 12psi when i run on the track a few times right..then just 7 for daily driving??

JDMsweetz is selling a b16 head for $650.. my bad. But she does have teg type r head for $950, and a gsr head for somewhere in between that.

just for curiosity sake, you can do LS/Vtec plus a turbo right? How safe is that and what would need to be done for that?

youre probably better off just going turbo onthe non-vtec engine andjust spending the money you would have used putting the newheadon for better internals...just what ive heard.

Well... I have an LS/Vtec Turbo in my 99 Integra and believe me it's not an easy job... To make it reliable and powerful, you gotta do a lot of tuning. What helped me is that I have my own business (Machine Shop) so I could do the machine work myself for customisation. Its very expensive when you gotta pay for what I've done so... If you don't have a lot of $$$$ for it, go with LS/Non-Vtec Turbo...
