Greetings all,
I got a Chevy 2000 Cavalier 2.2 4-door
Problem: BCM is my suspect for Power Door Locks to MALFUNCTION?
The Power Door Locks decide to stay unlocked for some reason.
When I press the Lock button they lock and right away re-open again.
So I continued to Re-Lock the doors and now only the front driver door stays unlocked, the rest don't work at all.
Has anyone ever come across this problem???
I think the Body Control Module is some what scwred due to my alarm.
This happend when I used the factory remote to open the doors and i forgot the alarm was still on and when I went to disarm my Cavy the door locks started acting up by staying in the Unlocked position mind you I used the factory remote a number of times when the car was armed and i guess the BCM couldn't take it anymore.
ANY SUGGESTIONS????
Is the BCM/RFA Reprogramable? If so, Can you Swap them between cars that you find at the junk yard without reprograming?
I have the COMPUSTAR Remote Paging Alarm.
Thanks to all,
Please Email me at [email protected]

Did you install this yourself? My guess is that someone 5-wired the doorlocks to work with the new alarm. Either those relays went bad or the wiring failed. So, find the lock/unlock wires from the new alarm and trace them to the aftermarket relays. Take a look at the wiring first. The locks are mastered from the PASSENGER door.

ok i figured the problem.......GM Techs were wrong after all they told me it was the BCM which cost about $180 before taxes shows what they know it's a good think I didn't buy it.
The Compustar module is fu*kT I disconnected the pdl from the module and my factory remote works again along with all the door locks.

Yeah, they love to milk the pockets huh? That's why I never give a price on fixing stuff for others well, other than labor rates. Reason is that you never know until you look at it.
Yeah, I was going to become a Compustar dealer until I really started messing with them. They install nice but there's always something quirky going on with the stuff. I much prefer DEI equipment.
