More Power For 2.2?????

Whats The Best And Cheapest Way To Increase Power ( Low To Midrange) For A S-10 With A 2.2 ( 99)

Last Months Mini-Truckin had a excellent article on adding power- Bigger throttle body, throttle body spacer from (JC Whitney) helps.. air induction kits, headers, and a exhaust are a few things.. I have a 96 s-10 with the 2.2, I know its bad.. especially when old people pass you in a gremlin and give ya the bird.. those are a few things that will Help-

I can understand where you're coming from...in my 96 Chevy S10 2WD, you hit it the floor, and it sounds like a hampster taking a dump.

I bought a little mod online, that was simply a resistor, that i stuck the 2 ends into the air intake sensor (all while having the battery disconnected) i reconnected it, and noticed a super performance increase. However, 3 months after that, my plugs had been a bit charred, and the head gasket blew due to a small pinhole in the gasket over years of time...the sensor had no damaging effects on the truck...only accented problems that were going to occur...i took it out over the summer, mainly because it makes the truck think cold air is coming in, thus lessening the work of the AC pump...so the AC was warm all the time...although, if you dont have AC, i HIGHLY recommend this idea...the resistor was a certain color, but you can find them all over ebay. My little s10 flew!

Also, i have a question...i dont know if anyone else noticed, but if you put anything more than a lug nut in the back bed, the truck sags and looks horrible...i tried to put blocks in between the axle and leaf springs, but on all 2wd s10s and blazers, they put the axle ABOVE the leave springs! Is there any way buying special shocks to increase the rear end, and give it that "truck" look that all the old silverado's used to have? I asked a friend about reversing the axle to below the leafs, but on mine, you'd need to weld new shock brackets..and thats too much for me. Maybe some load shocks with air inputs would work? that way i could blow them up all the time and give the truck that slanted look.

yea there not verry powerfull ill tell ya that
some times i have to floor mine to get it up a hill without loosin speed

But its still not powerfull enough, i was thinking of putting an MSD ignition system in it, will that help it enough? And also its hard tryin to find good headers for the 2.2
