Normal riding stance is low at front, why?

My 2001 Chevy Silverado 4by originally came with the front down and the rear up. The truck came with heavy-duty suspension, but not Z71 which appears almost level front to rear. Does it hurt anything to raise the nose by jacking the torsion bars then realigning the front end? I don't like the way it dives during braking or the headed into the ground when just driving it. Anyone with any ideas?

The rear is higher than the front so that the truck sits level when loaded. You can crank up the torsion bars but you will get a stiffer ride and accelerated wear on front end parts. I think there is company that makes a leveling kit for Silverados, it comes with a differnet set of torsion bar keys. I'm not positive though.
