will be insatlling some mod's this weekend and need to disaconnect my battery. i was told that when reconnected my autoradio would need a unlock code to work again ? any truth to that? i know that is common on european new car but when i called Hyundai 800 they could not tell me anything else that call my dealer..... they told me they have code for prior 95 cars only??? what is the deal?
thank you

My girlfriend told me something about on the Tiburon that if you remove the stereo without the key in the ignition that you need a code to get it to work again but never heard anything about the battery.. She works at Hyundai here, I'll ask and repost, maybe it can help ya.

Talked to muh girl she asked the service dept and they said if there is a problem it will give you an ERR code on the LCD display of the stereo. But just disconnecting the battery will only cause it to lose station memory.. In other words you will have to re enter your fav stations in the presets you want them. You should be safe.. I know this is a rather late post as you posted on the 21st, but with the Holidays and all you know how it is.. Maybe the answer can help someone else as well.. :)

after removing the car stereo in my hyundai lantra 95 model which I am in the process of replacing a sony cd/mp3 player, I tried to figure out the speaker wires and the power supply. I failed to figure out the power supply wires using a multi tester so I tried to reconnect the original unit to get some reference or basis. Sadly, the LCD is asking for a code and i dont have any idea about the code. So this experience might give an idea of whats going to happen if u remove the stereo unit of your hyundai car. Can anyone please help me solve my situation. The code and the power supply wires. T.Y.

^^^
you need a wiring harness.

http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&User_ID=17482341&St=9634&St2=-82636226&St3=-63416776&DS_ID=3&Product_ID=6587&DID=7

a diagram will come with that. you match that up with the harness for your aftermarket h/u, solder the wires together, and then connect the vehicle wiring harness into the harness in your radio hole.
