Hi Guys,
I have a very leaky golf gl mk2, the passenger well behind the drivers seat looks more like a swimming pool. I've removed the door cards and membrane and duct-taped all the holes having cleaned out the drainage holes in the bottom of the doorshell but there's still water getting in, if I don't find out where it's coming from soon I may have to call the coastguard!!!
The carb moves as well, you can rock it from side to side, should they do this? I'm sure there has to be a firm seal.

The Carb sounds like it neads a new flange seal. These are cheap and fairly easy to fit yourself. As for the leak does it have the problem after it rains? or over night. It could be a faulty seal or membrane. It could even be that your door is'nt fully closing which is leaving a gap in the seal to door contact.
