My AE86 ran the strip in 9.41 :naughty: and it's my daily driver.

Very possible. A 1200 hp bug with race body can clock ~ 6.5 s quarter mile, but only on days when the British can successfully operate a Mars lander.
Review the Fisher Buggies.
Instead of an old Porsche 930, I'm considering a bug chassis and working up a barely-streetable rocket, going for the widebody canyon-carver. hope to boost a 2l, and add extra oil cooling. --only a shopping list right now.

I came across a website that you shoould all check out....
www.hpamotorsports.com
They swap engines and do some awesome upgrades for your beetle but at a great cost. The 494hp model all wheel drive boasts a 3.9 0-60 in rain soaked track faster than dodge viper on dry track..just fyi...

I'm in an air-cooled mood, back into one after a year. HPA specializes in late-model water-cooled -- a "saturated" market. Haha, I typed water and saturated in the same sentence. Oh I'm so proud of me. Are you? Yes me.

The dodge viper srt-10 is rated at 0-60 in 3.9 seconds. And that's a generalized number as you all know companies do that. I have seen postings anywhere between 3.5-4.2seconds for the viper srt-10.

I did see a '71 VW bus (type II) with a 327 Chev engine sticking out the back once. Very ugly conversion with the radiator hanging way behind the engine. The driver told me that he only "punched it once on the race track," but that once blew-out his transmission. He didn't want to do that again so now he only drove it around as a conversation piece.
