I have a 1995 Ford Probe GT and i was wondering if 205/40/17 tires would fit my car and handle well. Thanx

Well, that size would be 23.5" O.D. and the stock tires are 24.9" O.D. so these would be way too short in O.D.. The maximum load rating (even if your ran them at the maximum psi would only be 1074 lbs per tire at 51psi vs. the stock tires which can handle 1301 lbs per tire at @32 psi.. The bottom line is this, they would be way too short and way under on load capacity for the car. They would be so overloaded that they would not handle well at all. There would be no mechanical/handling benefit running that size and they would be down right unsafe. :grinno:

Go there and calculate the tire size you'll be able to use. You'll need to know stock tire size tho.
Looks like 215/45-17 will be fine. I would recommed 225-45-17, ride will be softer.

The 215/45-17 or 225/45-17 will work fine. They will also look a lot better on the car.
