I read somewhere that one year model SS had the Transaxle out of a corvette. Trans axle=independent Rear Suspention

yup, never ever has there been a production camaro with an IRS, i think there was a rumor to on in a 5th gen, but i wont hold my breath. and in 1969 durring the Trans Am racing, they experimented with the corvette rear in the camaro, but its benifit was negligable and didnt warrant the change, so it stayed a solid rear.

um, hate to be a goober, but the link that jared put up, says that the last of the f-body's rolls off the line in 2002. so i think that means that the last year of the f-body was, oh i dunno, 2002. I work at a chevy dealership, it is currently 2003, we dont have any camaros anymore. i dunno, maybe im wrong, but i really dont think so.

If you work a a dealership than you know that the 2003s are made at the end of 2002 right? There are 2004 out now right? Guss what that is a 2003. Go to any parts store and they have parts for a 2003 Camaro. You guys are blind. The reason that you probably don't have any is because there are so few of them. Go ahead and argue with CNN/Time, just leave me out of it.

Nope, there are no parts for 2003 Camaros, because they don't exist. If someone has them and markets them as such, they've probably crossed paths with you and become retarded. You know you're wrong, they only reason I fight it is because I'm right...

lmao, tell me how a dealership works, please, actually, the new malibus, which are 2004's, which we are selling now in 2003, are called 2004's, not 2003's. and the last 2002 camaro rolled off the line in 2002, they didnt make 2003 camaros, the ones made in 2002, were just that, 2002's. just cuz they are made at the end of the year, does not mean they are next years models. we are still selling 2003's.

I mean that they sold Camaros that were sold as a 2003 model. Not ones made in 2003. You can look at the VIN and tell what year model it is so lets not play with words.

Technicaly speaking if somone sold you parts to a 03 Camaro and they did not exist could you sue them for false advertising? There are loads of sites selling these parts, if you are right you could start up a class action lawsuit. Thanks for the idea, but I doubt that it will do me any good. You are quite right people who speak with me too long do tend to become retarded, you should know you are one of them.

well, jarod, just got back from work, just for kicks i went to the parts counter and asked for a driver side headlamp assembly for a 2003 camaro. immediatly the older guys stoped and looked up, the kid working the counter is new, and tried looking up the part. i tried not to laugh, so he looked for about five minutes, and ya know what happend to pop up on the screen, for 2003 parts, absolutely nothing to do with the camaro ill tell you that. so tell me, if a CHEVY dealership's parts department dosnt have ANY listings for a 2003 camaro, exactly what parts store are you talking about? and have yall noticed that when someone violently and strongly aruges a point, and then finds out they are wrong, they always say they were just joking. lol, my advice jared, its always good to spark debate, and get people thinking, but before you go around telling other people they dont know what they are talking about, you should make DARN sure you know what your talking about.

Wether or not Chevy built a car as a 2003 Camaro is not the issue. Cars were sold and raced as a 2003 Camaros (maby they were just left over F-bodies that were sold.) Wether the people who bought them are idiots or not I don't know but they are out there and there are many parts shops that sell parts for them just look on the web. There is even a website where you can buy a 2003 Camaro, if they are falsely advertising then you can sue them. Take up legality of selling a car that never officaly existed with them I am tired of playing website tag.

Hey Jared_80, I bet you don't have a girlfriend, do you? I'm not saying this to be mean or anything, but you obviously have issues with admitting when you are wrong about something.
The original question was something like "when did GM stop making the F bodies". You said it was 2003, relying on an article from the web that contained a typo. If it wasn't common knowledge already, I think the others on this thread have offered sufficient proof that F body production ended in 2002 and that no F body was ever officially sold as a 2003 model as far as GM is concerned.
I think most people would be able to admit defeat at this point, but not you, Jared_80. You just dig your heels in and keep coming back for more! Now you're saying that the issue is not whether Chevy built a Camaro as a 2003 model. Uh . . . yeah, I think that was exactly the issue.
Just because some ethically challenged car salesman in Qatar might have sold a Camaro as a 2003 model to some poor, unsuspecting buyer doesn't mean that a 2003 model ever actually existed. I mean, do you think that GM will now have to change all of its production and sales data?
Imagine if that was how things worked in this world. I could sell my 2002 Z28 to my wife and then have her sell it back to me, but as a 2004! Then I'd have a 1 of 1, 2004 Z28. God! with a car that rare, it would already be worth twice what I paid for it! Plus, I could just keep doing that every year so I would always be driving a brand new car!
Learn to admit when you're wrong, Jared_80. Chicks dig that.

I will admit to being half wrong because when I started this I actualy thought that chevy autharized a 2003 Camaro. I was wrong about that, but I was not wrong about people selling "2003" camaros or at leased what they wanted us to beleve were 2003 camaros. I even saw a sweepstakes recently where the grand prize was a 2003 Camaro SS (I think that it was on a budwiser case. No I was not drinking at the time) So I will admit to being one of the confused about that, but people are still selling 2003s and I can get you advertisments for that (aparently I am not the only one confused) I think someone should start a lawsuit about that. (can you say false advertisment)

Has anyone in here had any civial litigation experence? And one more question can a Camaro tow anything, I love my little Jap car but it will not tow my (2200lbs) boat. Yes I know that it sounds odd but I am not a truck man (the handeling sucks) and I still want to pull my fishing boat. I would think that anything that can rip a 0-60 in under 6 seconds would have a pretty strong drivetrain but will the frame handle it??
89IROC&RS
12-15-2003, 09:23 PM
as far as litigation, you dont really have any grounds for a lawsuit unless you actually buy the car under the impression that it is a 2003. if you havent bought it all you can do is report them. no money for you :( you know what they say, it takes money to make money. gotta buy the car to sue the guy. as far as towing, um, dont know, the subframe construction isnt exactly the toughest thing around, the drivetrain may be able to take it, but the body might not be able to. dont know for sure.
Jared_80
12-16-2003, 09:17 AM
A guy that lives near me has a camaro with a tow hitch and a boat MUCH larger than mine (his is about 25 foot) I would assume that he tows it with his camaro because he does not own a truck. But he does not have to tow it far we are only 1.8 miles from the Gulf. I know that my Camry was rated to pull 2000lbs with a 4 banger and an automatic transmition, at leased it was before it turned into a twisted ball of steel. I can not help but think that a Camaro must be stronger than a Camry.
ra11585643
12-16-2003, 09:20 AM
Tow your boat. Go to a shop that supplies reciever hitches, they have a cross reference for your car. Also consider a cooling kit for tranny, you can find one at JC Whitney.COM
Jared_80
12-16-2003, 09:38 AM
Would you need a cooling kit for a standard tranny?? I see them alot for autos but I prefer stick shift personaly.
BlkCamaroSS
12-17-2003, 11:10 AM
It couldn't hurt, with all of the stress that you'd be putting on it with that boat...
89IROC&RS
12-17-2003, 02:19 PM
yeah i suppose if they sell a kit then your good to go, and i would also reccomend the cooling kit, because its not really the trans that heats up, its the torque converter that is spinning constantly, from the towing, the car is going slower than the engine, so the turbines in the converter are spinning different speeds creating friction. heating up your fluid and possibly burning it. but yeah, your drivetrain isnt the problem with the towing. more than enough power and strength, as i said before, i personally just wouldnt trust the subframe construction to do it. but thats me, sitting here with no camaro towing experience. so i would say contact that company that makes the kit, and talk to your buddy with the camaro and the tow hitch and see what he sez.
89IROC&RS
12-17-2003, 02:21 PM
im retarded you asked about cooling kits for a standard tranny didnt ya. oh well, auto, definately get it for the above reasons, for a standard, get it for cheap insurance.
