I have a 350 engine out of a cheverolete van, and want to know if it would be possible to mount it in an older model nissan 280. Do you know if it will work, any advice is appreciated.

anything can be done with enough welding wire + tube stock.

is the nissan FWD or RWD? i dont know squat for nissans. i can almost guarentee you'll need an entire new drivetrain, possibly able to keep your rear end. youll need a GM tranny, driveshaft custom made for chevy trans yoke/nissan rearend pinion yoke. you'll probobly need to fabricate motor/trans mounts. youll need to make sure your fuel system is up to par. and you may need torque moxes or crossmember supports for the frame.

if its really ugly in there you might even have to modify your front shock/strut towers or completely fabricate new.

your firewall might also be in the way of fitting the entire engine in there.

then look at other things like "are my brakes+ struts up to holding a SBC + stopping"

like i said i dont know how big a nissan is or even what the current setup is. but all of these things need to be at least considered.. and probobly more.

It's been done. Do a search on the web and you will likely turn something up.

It can be done but, WHY?? You will also need to raise you hood add counter weights in the rear, go with Larger springs in the rear. You will not be able to power steering in the car or A/C. Not enough room. Depending on the year of the Chevy van, the engine may out weigh the car.
Good luck.
