just bought NFS underground

last night i went to like 10 places to find the game and finally i got it at gamestop. its pretty sweet ill be up until 2 in the morning for the next two weeks. :iceslolan oh well something to do. anyone else played it? let me know what you thought.

I haven't played it, but it looks to be pretty cool. How are the graphics? What other games does it compare to? I've played Need for Speed before, and I personally didn't like it at all. However, is the Need for Speed Underground different? Would it be like GT? Or Automodellista? I wanna get it for my lil' bro for Christmas, but I'm not sure if it's worth it, experiencing their games in the past.

Yeah the graphics are sick, it's a bit like GT with the following exceptions, GT has A LOT MORE CARS this has umm 25 or less... :( but unlike GT you can add body kits custom paint and decal, head and tail lights, wings, N2O, Rims, Tires (yeah GT had that but it's different), and name brand parts... Oh yeah and sound systems :screwy: but yeah it's pretty damn good compaired to the other NFS' I hated them, driving is a bit quirky and takes time but it's pretty damn fun in the end.

i played the NFS 3, was ok. dont know bout the underground yet, havent seen it yet. but i dont think nothing will compare to GT 3. best racing simulation i ever played. graphics are :evillol: !!!

I have GT3... yeah it's good, but underground's Graphics are 10x better my friend, as far as number of cars GT3 (1,2,4) have underground beat by a LONG shot, but over-all customization of cars Underground takes the prize.

hey kornboy, you mean to say underground has more costumization of cars to screw around with compared to GT3? by how much? what about the races? are there options too like GT3? are there alot of tracks to race in? if thats the case, i got to get one then. the thrill wont be there though if cars are that limited. i cant stop playing GT3 coz there are too many cars to colllect. and wont stop till i get them all.

The game is FREAKING AWSOME!! I played a demo of it when I went to the Nopi Nationals and thought it probably would be sweet, but after I bought it, I could possibly say that it is the best non-sim driving game ever. The Drag and Drift missions are out of this world fun(the drifting could possibly be the most fun I've ever had playing a driving game), the others are your basic circuit and lap knockout, and then a Sprint race where you and a couple other racers go from point A to point B, whoever gets there first wins. The cars aren't quite real to life on their stock performance outputs(a Neon(not srt-4) having more topend and acceleration than a Golf GTI and a Civic SI?), but this is just a minor flaw bc when you start upgrading, you can even get the Civic(or whatever car) to stomp a RX-7 or Supra. There are 111 missions which will take some time to complete. I've probably played for at least 9-10 hours and i'm only 41 missions through. Oh and the best part... the customization is AWSOME. Rims,body parts,paint,hoods,roof scoops,vinyl graphics,decals,neon,window tint,exhaust tips,headlights,tailights,intakes,headers,performa nce exhaust,ecu/fuel upgrades,turbo,suspension upgrades,tire upgrades,weight reduction,drivetrain enhancements,brakes,nitrous, well... pretty much everything can be customized. The upgrades all have brand names with them too, sometimes the names don't fit to the parts but its ok.(example: Jackson Racing coilovers?... I've never heard of them at least)
But anyway, overall this is an awsome game that everyone should at least rent for a week or two.(In my opinion everyone should buy it, but thats just my :2cents: ) I give it a 9.2 out of 10

Ok, now I can probably safely decide that I will get it for my lil' bro for Christmas. But how much does it retail for? I guess I'll have to check it out at the stores, if there are any left.

you know how it is in GT3 that you have to past certain test to get a liscence to race in certain categories. like you have to have either A, B, C, I-A, I-B and the super liscence. is there on in NFS underground too?

That's how I feel about GT, but I really wanted to do more than "Stage 1 upgrade" ... "Racing suspension" ... I wanted a body kit if I want, I want to pick the pipe and cat-back I want for my car!

i def agree when you say that drifting is the most fun on any racing game its bad ass. the cool thing about this game is you actually have to know when to shift and everything. like my friends first time he didnt know what the shift button was (cuz i didnt tell him so i could smoke him :evillol: ) and he blew his engine it was so funny. the only thing i wish is that when you totaled your car it actually showed the car all mangled that would be sweet. but def took the place of gt3 in my eyes,not for sim but like you guys said i like being able to do whatever like paint my rims black if i want the game is really fun. :bigthumb: :bigthumb: imprtsyco gives it two thumbs up.

Yeah I just bought it tonight and let me say it is the shit! I'll probably be up till 3:00 or so in the morning all weekend. Th upgrades, sounds, grafix, everything is all the shit.

man i got this game yesterday as soon as i got out of class, i got home and was playing by 11. non-stop since cept for my classes. and man not only do you got to know when to shift you have to shift perfectly to get all of the boost to keep up with the other cars.

Damn this game sounds kick ass, is there a free ride thing on there like riding around town?

yeah sorta. I havent gone to that yet but i'v got about 60 or so out of 111 races done all on the hard level. This shit gets nerve racking. Best money I have ever spent on a video game. it sucks that you have to rice out your car to get style points though.

Actually what I mean was that the styling upgrades are the body kits,paint,neon, etc. and when you gain more styling points you unlock more styling upgrades.

P.S. Do a lot of drifting and you'll get a LOT of styling points, I usually average around 13-20000 styling points per race.

Yeah the game totally owns. The first thing you see when you start it up is a kick ass movie of an eclipse racing another car, and the awesome soundtrack starts at the first menu, along with the growl of a sunset orange skyline. The graphics are INCREDIBLE, and the gameplay is totally addicting. I can already tell im going to be purchasing a race wheel for my pc to improve on this already awesome game. Online play is another perk.

Well after my 4th day of play and all the long hard 3:00 & 4:00 in the mornings i've finally beat the game. There are actually 113 races and 21 cars. But now I can start all over again. :bigthumb:

I did to like #80 or so on hard. Then we had to go to easy and mediums. The very last race I had on easy with the guy in the skyline and he was on my ass the whole way. Still it's an insanley kick ass game.

i agree the game is pretty nice, me and my friends have been playing it for the past week almost, my fav part is at the line if you hit your nitrous button it purges its great, and you dont have to rice out your car it will just take longer if you dont :naughty:

Yeah now I started over again and I'm not going to rice out my car. It's amazing how easy it is to drive the slow cars after driving a 200+mph Skyline. I was thinking about getting a steering wheel too, but I might get XBOX live so I can race other people instead. I think that would be shit loads of fun.

last night i was just doing drifting to unlock everything and i love. i scored 164234 points in one time. maybe thats not alot im not sure what other people are scoring but i was excited. it was in in a 4 lap competition with the rsx. those civics with the cats on them are so funny i like the one with the dead cat :evillol: its fricken awesom. if you guys want the cheats to unlock all the tracks in quick race mode and split screen mode im me.

yeah thats pretty darn good. The most I got was actually with a Miata(I swear its the truth) I got 241,xxx on a 4 lap race. I linked together nearly all my drifts. It was sooooo freakin hard, probably took me over 4 hours to get it right. I'm gonna try it again but tape it with my vid camera to show off the game a little bit for people who still dunno if they want to buy it or not.

NFSU is tight as shit. i got it like 5 days ago and i beat the game in 3 days. Me and my cuz's boyfriend stayed up till like 6 30 in the mornin playin that shit. The graphics and the sound of shifting and the turbo is amazing. I think its one of the best racing games out right now
