I’m very new to cars; about 2 weeks ago I didn’t even know how an engine worked. I went to my first street race about 2 weeks ago and ever since I’ve been infatuated with cars! I’ve been looking around, and I found this deal on a website and I was wondering if it is any good. It’s a ’91 3000GT VR-4 for $7499 with 114k miles. It says 300HP, so I guess it has been modified but none are listed. It says it has a turbo timer, whatever that is, and that the engine and transmission where rebuilt at 98k miles.
By the way, what are some good places to look for some 3000GT VR-4s? So far I’ve tried eBay and autotrader.com.

first of all, the car comes with 300hp stock, there is nothing added to it.
second a turbo timer is a device that shuts of your car after a certain amount of time because after driving the car (especailly driving it hard) you need to let it idle before shutting it off. for instance my turbo timer is sat at 1 minute so i take out the key lock the door and leave and in 1 minute after i take out the key the car shuts off. this is so your turbo's last long. and last but not least yes in my opinion it is a good deal it sounds just like the deal i had a 92 vr4 with 112,000 for $7,200. anyway the car is great, and anyone on this forum will tell you the same thing(obviously)its a great car to go eat those street racers up with. your 1/4mile time stock should be around 14.0 give a little take a little. depending on you. since your a street racing head i'll compare the car to some others that are equal. wrx, honda s2000, nissan 300zxtt, 03camaro Z28, 03mustang gt. all these cars run 14.0 give a little take a little like the vr4.
note:95 and up are faster than our 1st gens, they run more like 13.5-13.6

That price seems a bit hight for the year and miles, but if its in great shape, then it might be worth it to you.

With a rebuilt engine and trans the price seems good. Just make sure to check everything out and look for reciepts for the engine and trans, he should have them. You could also check out the engine, it should be fairly clean if it was recently rebuilt. If not, the price should drop considerably.
