2002 Stereo Install....Is there a decent kit out there????

I want to install my Clarion in-dash DVD player, but I have yet to find an install kit that works.... I am replacing the Bose system and head unit and the one kit I bought doesnt do the job. If there isnt another kit that will work, then I imagine I would have to do something custom. Any suggestions or had same problem???? [ :banghead:

why doesn't your kit work?

The kit I have is a single Din on the top w/ a pocket below it. However, it mounts the new stereo lower than it needs to be, so when I screw it to the factory dash support, the install kit is actually higher than it should be. I know this because the HVAC controls have to butt up to install kit and w/ this kit there is almost a half inch of space I cant get rid of.

check www.crutchfield.com. i ordered a kenwood deck from them for my old maxima and they sent me two different mounting kits with it for free. it's nice cuz you can search for things by car make/model/year. if they sell the deck you have then they sell the mounting kits for it too. other than that i'd say ask around at forums.maxima.org. i guarantee someone there'll have an answer for you.

if you do find one that works post it here cuz i've been thinking about a DVD player for my car in the future.
