The catalytic convertor

I was wondering if anyone has passed their smog test in an obd2 gsr with either a hi flow cat or a test pipe. Also, once I've taken off the catalytic convertor, can I put the same one back on. I think it might be the original.

this depends, i believe if u want the answer u have to do the research on hi flow cats. there might be one or two that is street legal while the rest is made for off road which it should state.

oh don't even think about using a test pipe on an emission test, that's the worst thing u can.

Just put your original one back on when you go to get smoged....

If your planning on upgradeing to a high flow cat make sure its a bolt on....

Carsound makes a JDM highflow cat that has the 2.5 collecter inlet...(I hear its really good)

Random and Comptech Hi-Flow cats wont bolt on to the JDM ITR header and will need modification....

If your planning on getting a JDM Header plan on getting the Carsound cat....Its a bolt on and no welding is required.

Then when it comes time for smog just swap the items out with your original.

So i can put the stock one back on? It won't be f'ed up? What BS, getting in trouble when there are 3 TON Escalades with 24's. Tell me that's not polluting. Oh well. Im going to do a test with the cat on there. It didnt say street legal, but thats probly just to protect their butts. I'll try it for myself and see. I heard theres a place half an hour away that will test for free.

The hi flo cat will pass if smoged right away. After that, give it about a week of driving, then its a no go. The test pipe will not pass. The OBD2 will need a O2 sim. Without it, a CEL code will not allow the car to pass.

Just put the stock cat back on when smogging. Thats the easiest way to do it.
