I bought a good condition Dodga caravan couple of days ago for a decent price and i have some questions about it.
1)When i hit the gas pedal van pulls to right for like 1/2 a second then it sraightens out.. and when i take my foot of the pedal it pulls left for 1/2 a sec then it straightens out.. it only happens if i step on the pedal rather fast.
what do you think the problem maybe?
2)Airbag light is on all the time. I've been assured that car didn't have an accident, is there anyway to check this? and is it expensive to get the airbag sensor checked?
3)the first time i hit the rear wiper switch, the wiper started and died at the vertical position of the first round.
Is there a fuse for the rear wiper motor?
4)the heater doesnt seem to blow really warm air... Maybe its the volume of the vehicle but its freezing in there.. what can i do about it?
Other than dress heavily:)
Is there anywhay to find the manual for this vehicle? even if its a photocopy or something..
thank you

For the rear wiper, check for a 20 amp fuse (yellow), if thats OK, then the Wiper motor might be shot. The fuse also operates the tailgate release too. Look in cavity #14 in the fuse block under the dashboard.
As for the lack of heat, The thermostat might be shot. It could be stuck wide open whick will keep pumping coolant in not allowing your engine to heat op properly. Not a real hard job but you'll have to drain the coolant from your radiator. You might as well flush the radiator while it's drained to get all the crap that may have accumulated over time.
A Haynes manual is very helpful for a do-it-yourselfer. You can get one at an auto parts store or you should be able to check one out at a library
You should get the airbag light checked out though. As for the steering during acceleration, I'm not sure except maybe the allignment is out of wack. Just a guess
hope this helps. Good luck

well, what i think is, is that your having the same problem i did whe i bought my van, i went to turn on the back wiper and it stoped right in the middle.... well i went ad bought the new fuse and it blew that one, i asked an electrician and he said that he had heard about a recall on some wiring for the rear wiper motor, well go to find out he was right and i got it done for free becouse of the recall and it works fine, my suggestion is call the local new dodge dealership and ask them if there is a recall on any parts of your and make sure to have your manufacturer # that is can be seen threw the frount window were the driver is from the out side, it might save you alot of money and time. :) hope that helps you and good luck

No bad feelings intended, but you should check to see if it was a write off. I would be very worried that your in for major electrical problems. Did you buy it from a dealer, or persons as, is. Do a history check on this vehicle. If not get one and talk to previous owners. A manual will not help if you do not have the proper diagnostic. equipment. Take it back if you can. You can buy a manual at most auto stores for $15.00. Good luck, Wayne

The Air Bag is on the same fuse as the rear wiper, my wiper blew the fuse as well once it got all the way to the left and the air bag light came on at the same time. I replaced the fuse and both have been fine since. That was about 6000 miles ago and I use the rear wiper somewhat frequently, so maybe thats all thats wrong with yours.
