Hey, I'm gettin a 2003 Civic DX and they don't come with a tachometer, so I'm gettin an aftermarket one. I was wondering how hard it is to hook one up to a car that doesn't come with one from the factory? Thanks

Generally it's not all that difficult. Pretty easy in most cases. Since the 7th gen Civics are a bit different from 6th and 5th generation models ('92-'00 models) I'm not too sure how similar if any it is to hook up as the previous gen models. Maybe ask around on forums dedicated to '01 and new Civics? Sorry. :eek7:

Also when it's working, www.jdmfan.com might have some info on this matter too, or at least wire diagrams for your Civic.

I haven't been able to get on jdmfan for months now.. they used to be the best site for Honda wiring etc. that I've ever seen. On the older Civics like mine there was a blue wire under the hood on the driver's side that you could put it into, along with power/ground and bingo. That's how I installed mine..

True that! That location will work, or if you're too lazy to poke through the firewall like me, I tapped my tach RPM signal lead into the same blue wire on the back of the guage cluster.
