Does anybody know how to make/get one of those flashing red LED's for your alarm? I guess they're powered off of the battery... thanks.

Uhh, if it is what I think it is, just go to autozone or somewhere like that.

hell, you could get that from Radioshack or any other electronic store I'd say. If you can find a shop that deals with car alarms, you might be able to get one from them too.

Make sure if you get one without a built in resistor that you put a resistor with it. They can and will explode if you put too much power into them. Yesterday I was screwing around in my Electronics class and I managed to blow up an LED and half of it shot off and hit my friend in the forehead, lol. That was on 15V and however much current it could take, I'm sure on 14V from a battery it would do the same ;)

Yes, goto Radioshack. You will have to get a 12v. LED light or use resistors. The ones for car alarms are actually less than 1v. so those will not work unless you use resistors.

Okay great I'll try that. How come a light flashing for weeks on end doesn't drain the battery... is it because it draws so little power?

LED's draw very very little power, and when it's only flashing every 30 seconds or so that is so miniscule that it can just be ignored.

Actually don't most alarm LED's flash every second?

Mine stays constant when you arm it for 15 seconds I believe, then it flashes once every 30 sec.

Oh okay I've never seen that... most I've seen flash every second or two... either way I guess it doesn't drain the battery.
Hey in your signature you got your car pic... is that a gutter guard grill?

Nice... looks great. I couldn't even tell except it said "ghetto grill" in your info. Did you use the hard metal stuff or the soft bendy plastic gutter guard? I used the Home Depot soft bendable plastic stuff... I don't know if it looks as good. Sure is easier to work with though.

I can't see how you guys can see anything at night on that car. sr20de4evr, can you send a link or something to some of your car pics. I am sure you have some don't you

It's the aluminum type, still pretty easy to work with, doesn't rust, holds its shape even through 130+mph runs :)
If you click on that picture it brings you to my site with several pics. I haven't updated that recently though. None of my audio-related pics are on there, and I haven't taken any new ones of the car itself.

Looks nice... any ideas how to mount gutter guard to the inside of my chrome bumper? Would hot glue hold the plastic gutter guard to the metal...
