My son has a 92 Camaro RS it will not take gas like it should it boggs down. It seems to idle fine no skipping and it cranks just fine. We noticed that there is verry little exhaust coming out of the pipes could something be stopped up? Any ideas? Thanks a bunch. :banghead:

Might be a few things.. plugged catalytic converter, bad fuel pump, bad O2 sensor, bad MAF sensor, bad throttle body... I'd assume it's the cat if its running like it's restricted though.

My experience with a plugged catalytic converter was the car would crank and idle fine and would drive down the road, but any kind of above average excelleration would cause the car to bogg and make the motor sound like it was straining. Would not excellerate under passing conditions. Also the manifolds would glow cherry red. How long has it been since the fuel filter been changed? Hope this helps.

yeah, my inclination would be the cat. im a chevy tech and thats the first thing i would check, a dead givaway is if you go over a speed bump, or hit a pothole, it will rattle. but if you feel up to it, go ahead and pull it off, and take a look, worst case, the honey comb will be broken up and falling apart in chunks. best case, it will just be reallly clogged. all the little holes. but if your cat is clogged, you probly want to check your O2 sensor too. if the O2 sensor is bad, it will cause the car to run rich, and that will clog the cat. its a possible cause. the fuel filter is a good place to look too, but if the exhaust is less than it should be, i would definately think it was the cat. good luck.
