AirBags/Heater Core

I have a 1998 GrandPrix GTP, my heater core is leaking. Does anyone have any quickfix ideas? Hubby is wanting to replace heater core, but is nervous about triggering the airbags. Is there something he can do to prevent them from going off? :iceslolan Please someone give me some ideas I don't want to spend a fortune on this problem. Thanks..Jenny

Disconnect the battery, pull the airbag fuse and keep the key out of the ignition switch the bags will never go off.
