testing the DPS unit from K&G

Sometimes automotive products come along that promise a lot and deliver on none of it. Often these products are also advertized without any specifics explaining their function and carry a seemingly large price tag for what you get... which is exactly how I felt about the DPS. So last week I was sent a test unit to evaluate and critique, which says something about how confident K&G is in it's product. What I found out over the course of the next week was definitely interesting...
UPDATE!
Sales of the DPS have now been suspended on this site, as one owner took the time to rip his apart and found nothing in it other than some useless wire and a 20 amp fuse. No "filter", no circuit board or anything that could actually function beyond the additional ground this unit provides. Evidently the power gains seen on multiple cars were due to enhanced electrical ground, because this box does nothing as far as we can tell other than lighten your wallet. We've done the same to our units and found exactly the same thing inside, in short please do not recommend this product to anyone. In fact, we wouldn't hold it against you if you let everyone you know aware of this scam.

Special thanks to Bottle Blown Racing, located in Camarillo, CA. If you are in the Ventura county area and ever have need for a friendly bunch of guys who really know how to make a car perform, look no further. They specialize in nitrous oxide systems (mild to wild), but are adept at doing anything you may be interested in, even if it's just to spin the rollers of their dyno for fun or a club event. I've been there on three separate occasions now and plan to make it my only stop when I need test and tunes.

I have posted this in other threads but I thought it only necessary to get the word out. This DPS thing doesn't do a thing. Here is a link to someone who took this thing apart and tested it on two different cars and found nothing.

noted, and thanks. The US distributor has already halted sales of the units due to the discovery of what's inside the box.

where is your original post on what you thought about this? I'd like to read your findings. I remember you did find results.

That new" DPS is still K & G, it's just their "new" re-designed and re-marketed version of this thing. They've done a push upon this re-organization to get good press, and have got a few Primedia magazine writing about this junk. It's a K & G Racing DPS. It just looks snazzier than the first go around. It's still the DPS, it's still a scam.
