Hi,

I will be doing my MPFI swap soon.
Is it possible to use a DX 92-95 intake manifold for the MPFI swap?
They look almost the same.

This is the one- http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2443076627&category=36474

Thanks

ive heard of this working but have no confirmation about it, though i heard it was on an ex.

Yes you can since they are both a D series motor but you will still need the 88-91 ecu and injectors from a si/ex oh and the injector resistor box. or you can use the 92-95 ecu and injectors and wire for obd1.

Alright thats a relief because I know junkyards have tons of the 92-96 DX manifolds. So all the sensors, and throttle bodies work on the DX manifolds?
What do you mean injectors? The 4 fuel injectors will need to be replaced? I cant use the ones that come with it?
Thanks

The injectors that come with the 92-95 are Obd1. You can use them but you need a 92-95 ecu.

I dont mean to sound too stupid. but so if i lets say get a 92-95 DX manifold and use the fuel injectors. I will also need a 92-95 ecu.
Does it just plug in the stock location of the 4th gen ECU?
After that can I just I just do the MPFI swap like it says?
ECU wiring and dizzy wirign will all be the same correct?
Thanks

88-91 si's have peak and hold injectors that require the resistor box, 92-95 civic have saturated injectors which require no resistor box

u can find 4 a6 injectors and resistor box and use them with your 92-95 manifold it wont make a diff altho when your done with the swap you might have acouple connections or plugs that couldent be used but it will still work

Alright thanks alot for the info.
How much do you think 4 fuel injectors will cost me? Lets say I got them at Autozone or Discount Auto?
Thanks

Hey if your doing a MPFI swap your gonna need a PM6 ECU....Guess what today is your lucky day. I am selling one from a 89 5speed for 55bucks shipped!!

Just do the obd1 swap i posted earlier no response. I did it it was super easy kind of. All you do is get the manifold all sensors and ecu. i got this all from a junkyard(ecu, sensors, and manifold for only $40.00)......

Search for the obd 1 conversion harness.

Do that first.
Then you can follow the steps in the mpfi swap guide the # of pins are the same but the connector is different. Follow the instructions but dont use the injector resistor box. Its very cheap and a 5gen dx is better than a 4gen ex. Only when pertaining to the manifold.
I reccomend changing all gaskets and also giving it a good cleaning. .
Hope this helps

I have 5th gen manifolds on both of my cars. The only real difference is that the map sensor is on the TB instead of the firewall, so you have to either use that map sensor and lengthen the stock wires, or else plug up the hole and use the stock map. otherwise, mine work perfectly.

Alright thanks.
So just to clarify this.
I will need a complete 5th gen intake manifold with all the sensors and injectors. I will also need the ECU and complete wiring harness OBD1.
Will I still need the injector resistor box? If I convert to OBD1?

Is this a good OBD0 to OBD1 swap site?

Is it cheaper doing it this way or should I jsut do the regular MPFI swap?

Thanks

No need for the resistor box with obd1. It is cheaber to go whichever way the junkyard will sell the stuff the cheapest.

I am 99% sure you can use the OBD1 injectors w/ the OBD0 ECM (PM6) and just leave out the resistor box.

I think i may just go with the 88-91 SI manifold because it seems like its alot easier. And cheaper by the time I got done with it.
Anyways thanks guys.

or is my wiring obd1 so i dont need resistorbox and ecu?
please help.
