i need to get a good amp to power my 12" kicker comp vrs and i can't find just the right one, i need to know which one would work the best with my subs, i have been thinking about the rockford 801s and also the kicker 600.2 i think. is there any other ones that are any good. if you don't have a particular amp you think i should get then how many watts rms should i go for. oh by the way my subs are 400 watts rms each. thanks

So you have 2 subs? Try looking into a JBL 1200.1 (I know, this is the amp I always recommend to anyone who asks, but I love mine, and for the price you cant beat it)

yes, the JBL 1200.1D is a great amp for the price, look into it

1200 watts on two 250 watt rms subs. I'm unsure about how JBL advertises but if it pushes 1200 wrms he will instantly vaporize the coils on those subs. IF you wanna stick with kicker check out the 600.1 or check out autotek they make some nice amps for pretty cheap. If you plan on upgrading eventually i would recommend the ss800.1 which at 4 ohms pushes 500wrms and at one ohm 800 watts rms so if you plan on doing say 2 more subs it would be easily accomplished. I looked around and going price seems to be 349 from authorized dealers which you would get a one year warranty with.

The VR's only handle 250 watts, then go with the JBL 600.1, also from ikesound.com

no they handle 400 watts rms, probably even more but that is what it says.

Mine came from a place called Premier Sound. I only got the 400w mono block so it was cheaper than the z7000 mono block. i dont remember how much it cost but it was pretty cheap. search for cadence audio or something on yahoo or whatever. you wont be disapointed

2 crappy jbl 10's... I am actually about to get possibly a single JL 12 to replace the 10's though
