OK..I am picking up a K&N Recharge Kit from my local parts store today and I was wondering how the hell to use the damn thing....Is it easy? ?
What is the proper procedure?? My K&N filter is starting to look like dog poop and with winter coming I want to start out with it clean before all the winter-time road grime gets on it and crap starts getting sucked in the motor.
Thanks peeps.

It is really easy. It comes with instructions and is really straightforward. You wash the old filtr and dry it and then apply the new oil that comes with the kit.:)

Well damn! I just went to K&N's website and read about their stuff. They say you can go 50,000 miles between servicings of a K&N filter...and I only have about 15,000 on mine. And the dirt on the filter actually helps it to clean better...so F that.. I am not cleaning mine yet.

if you read it again it probally says 50,000 miles "UNDER NORMAL DRIVING CONDITIONS" this is a common phrase used in the auto industry to keep from getting blamed for false advertising while making it look better than it actually is. personally i would clean it every 6 months or 12,500 miles:D

OK dude...thanks for the info..I am picking up my kit today..Found one at a local Carquest for $15.
I get your point and I figure it won't hurt to clean it either...If I clean it every 15k and go up to the recommeneded limit of 25 cleanings, I figure the rest of the car should be just about completely rusted away at 561,000 miles when I need to replace the filter ;)
