Tranny problems?

When im in idle for sum reason i hear a grinding under the hood and i feel the grinding with my shift knob for some reason..... when its grinding when im idle it seems like the car is gna stall but i dont know what it is any answers anyone ?

When your car is sitting there in idle it grinds or when you are trying to shift into gear at idle it grinds? I assume its a manual?

if it is a manual, than i think it's your bearing. i think it call a release bearing. but does the noise goes away when the cutch petal is push down? if it does than it's the release bearing.

and if it a automatic than i'm not sure what it could be.
