1/4 mile time

hey guys...whats up??? so yeah i went to the race track yesterday...and ity was import nationals...so i decided to race....i won my first two brackets...then on the third...i lost b/c my car when too fast....my best time was 15.83 at like 87 mph...my rxn time was .053 which isnt too bad....do u think that 15.8 is decent for a sohc zc motor? xoxox

yeah it does....

some websites claim the SOHC ZC makes 118ps, which is around 115 hp..I know the block, internals, and the intake manifold also, are the exact copies of the USDM D16A6.

I'm skeptical about the whole SOHC ZC having 120ish HP...i had the d16a6 and SOHC ZC back to back (still have the ZC in the car) and they feel identical to me. I am a non-believer of the whole 10 extra hp they have. And to me that seems like a pretty decent time. I know melt has a SOHC ZC in his 4d lx and ran 16.83 if i believe or so , also, what else do u have done to your car?

im not sure....i won the first two times...and lost the third...there were only like a dozen cars left...not that bad.....but thanks for not doubting me! i really do appreciate it!

i went to the track expecting to go ya know...a 16.8..haha...and i ran the first time...and it was a 15.83..which is the best ive ever done! i was like "get outta here!" haha

What were the conditions like when u ran (weather, etc.)

the conditions were good...a little breeze and chilly...perfect racing weather!

Nice. It sux here cuz out racetrack is only open till like mid September and here it is still in the 80's-90's so its hot as hell. I wish it would stay open at least through Halloween so we could have some cooler weather.

And if you ever watch the 'Tornado' infomercial im the old grandma who installed the Tornado on her car and can feel a difference :rofl:

my si is pretty much stock with i/h/e and i ran 16.3 the day my trans blew a case bearing. i havent run it since, but i know i can do better than 16.3

maybe 120hp isnt as weak as you think it is, i mean the z6 vtec motor only has 125hp..does that make it slow also?

or...maybe for once, someone knows how to drive? just a thought...

I'm not saying he does'nt know how to drive, nor am I underestimating anyone, but the car would have to be pretty damn light for it to do that time..even with a good driver.

see everyone under-estimates how i drive..they see this decent looking chick..and there like "nah" i went up to north jersey yesterday, and i raced an si hatchie....and smoked him....my car can go faster if i fix the problems (tighten the alt belt, and put my stage 2 clutch in)

That seems about right. Stock Sis are around 16.4, so 15.8 with a SOHC ZC and I/H/E should put you right in that range.

i was just talking to one of my co workers....and he races his turboed civic hatchie...and he gave me some pointers....let more air out of my tires, shift earlier in 1st....shit like that...he said i'd definately go around 15.6-15.5...and when i get my clutch and alt belt tightened...15.4's....man i need ta get my clutch in...im going to the track again this weekend....no doubt....i gotta see if it works!! xoxox.....SiZ..how you doin???

my car finally went to shit...the ignitioni went....but i think im buying an 89 crx si....act stage 2 clutch....2.5 cat back exhaust....all new parts under the hood....blown head gasket and pistons....$700..im going to swap my motor in it and sell the shell!!!!!
