Ok, I am at a loss! Any help will be appreciated!
My 96 blazer easily shifts from 2wd to 4hi, 4hi to 4low and 4 low to 4 hi with no problems. It works all the time. However, I cannot go from 4 hi back into 2wd without pushing the button for what seems to be an eternity. Has anyone run into this before?

there is trouble shooting codes for the transfer case and they are numbered 1- 10
you have to ground a specific terminal in the aldl connector under the dash and turn the key on and watch the flashes on the 4hi 2hi 4lo button. and there is diagnostic tree in which to follow but my information on this is at work on the computor we use alldata there.sorry but thats all i have on this. unless you live in southern ontario canada.....

did you replace the motor pack...
How much did the pack cost?
Is it easy to replace? How much $$ for labor?

One thing it could be, in 96 the front axle actuator was a thermal device, it takes a while for them to engage/disengage when its cold. In 98 it was changed to a motor actuator and adapter wiring harnesses are available for the earlier models. The new actuator is $120 and I think the wiring harness is another $40

this may be my problem...
It worked great in the summer...
And, with good traction in 2WD...and with the wide tires...I usually get good traction in 2WD...

If its a full size blazer it could be the problem, the S series uses a different system.
