Putty/Polishing Error....?

Ehem, I was puttying the inside of my hood and somehow some got on the other side. I scratched it off, but there is still a blotch there. I haven't polished yet. The texture is the same when feeling the hood. Will the polish remove these ugly putty splotches, or do I need to respray the hood? Thanks! :uhoh:

not very sure if this would work, i have never had a problem like this, but what if you put a bit of water on the putty to "soften" it up and just wipe it away?
