I need to replace the turn signal switch assembly. Appears I also need to pull the steering wheel to do that. The Chilton's manual says remove the shroud on the back side of the steering wheel...did that. Now it says to use a pry bar to remove two clips. I can't find or see any clips. Anyone have any ideas on how to get the horn/air bag assembly off so the steering wheel can be removed? What do these clips look like, color, shape, size? Chilton's implies the clips are at the 3 and 9 o'clock position if I'm readin the manual correctly.
I also disconnected the negative side of the battery before attempting any of the above. I was afraid of getting my neck broke.
Thanks for any help,
TomBo

tombo do not take the wheel off just take the cover around the column off do not disconnect the air bag i just pull the fuse for the bags this greatly reduces the chances of the bags blowing off in your face.. the top peice will come off around the ignition cylinder trust me it just breaks the plastic offf int the inside. then proceed with caution...

remove Both cables of batt not just ground, you do haveto disable the sir system, todo so you haveto turn the steering wheel strait, place ignition to lock, remove key, remove airbag fuse, unplug the yellow cpa connector located at the base of the steering column, remove the knee bolster and sound insulator panel located below the instrument panel and unplug yellow cpa, unplug the steering column harness connecter.
that will disable your airbag to safely work on your turn signal switch assembly, you do need to disable airbag and take steering wheel off for this job.
