they are accurate as far as comparison, you could run with it, and a friend could run with it, and provided you have identical situation, you could compare numbers. as far as using it to actually determine 1/4 mile, its not accurate at all, at least this is my experience with it.

I had a d16z6 hatch, the GTECH said i had 90hp and my brother had a d15b7 2 door coupe, it said he had 110 hp.

they only way to get very accurate results is by getting your car weighed with you in it and all your regular gear... dont weigh it, then take all your shit out and then test... it needs to be a perfect weight

i just got mine in the mail (40 bucks eBay) so i'll be able to check it all out. i'm gonna check out the HP numbers with emptying my car (which means having lots of tools, junk, and an extra tranny) then without it all

No not really.

They are great to benchmark your baseline hp, tq, 1/4, etc. Then when you add a new mod, tune a bit, etc, you can run it again and see if it made a gain. But they are not really that close to an actual 1/4 run, or dyno.

I'm with Kris, nothing's gonna replace the trap and the dyno. Save the money on the gadget and go run your car...

lots of people I have talked to said they were w/in .1 sec on every 1/4 they did (by using it while at the track). HP should be similarly accurate IF you put in accurate weight. My bro's car showed 180whp when we put in the correct weight and 120 w/ 300lbs less.
