More Power

I would like to know with out going thru a lot of money and time what is the most likely thing that I can do to get more power and quicker pickup for my 1999 Suburban. It has the v8 vortec engine, I have never messed with this type of engine. I am most used to the old carb engines that most of us had when we were kids. Modern fuel injected and these vortec style engines just give me a headache. Can you give me some assistance on these questions.

Talk to your dealer or speed store about performance enhancements. Minor changes will give you minor enhancements. Do you want power as in towing power or do you want pure street acceleration? These are both 'power' enhancements at different places on the torque curve.

You could put on a different exhaust system or change the timing curve with a different distributor. Call your shops. Let us know.
