hey... what does "port/polished" mean?


also, what makes one engine have more horsepower than another?
specifically?

ok this is what i know, i duno if its right but here we go...a port and polish is porting the head so the exhaust and intake ports are bigger . thpolish part makes the fuel travel through the head quicker and making it tumble to help it mix with the air better. and horsepower is the measure or footpounds of work something can do in a minute. Some dude figured out that a horse could lift 330 pounds of coal 100 feet in one minute. that mean the horse exeted 33,000 foot pounds of work. but lets skip all the crap that happend next and say that one horsepower is 33,000 foot-pounds of work in 1 minute. So if u have 200 horsepower u r exerting 6,600,000 foot-pounds of work in 1 minute. i duno how thy test that but thats how it works.
