I remember in other threads people ordered left hand dashes in Japanese kits that only came in right. I think it looks weird right hand drive. (No offense.), and am wondering where you ordered them. I want to make a left hand drive skyline, and want a left hand dash for my HSG XJ-S. Thanks! :icon16:

Ive never heard of somewhere to order a left hand dash.. American satco used to offer a few left hand dashs in resin with there kits not sure if they still do or not.. Might want to check out there site to see if they still offer anything..
The skyline was never made with a left hand dash. The real car only comes with right side dash.. However you can get a left hand version from one of those diecasts.. I think there motor max or something like that. Its a riced out skyline that runs like 5 bucks at stores.. That would be the only way to have the left hand dash but it will be incorrect as the real car was never made..
Hope that helped ya a bit.. Later Rick

Skylines were never made left hand drive. I know that. I like being creative. And the Skyline in f/f was RIGHT hand drive. I watched his yellow skyline VERY carefully. Hmm thanks for your help though! :icon16:

I believe the Testors die-cast-body R34 Skyline kit has a LHD dash. (double check before purchasing!) Can't help with the Jag, sorry.

Nope sorry.. All skylines from the factory are right hand drive.. There was one I know of thought that was left hand drive from the factory for a car show.. You know one of the manufacturer shows.. There are some Left hand drives out there but all of them are aftermarket swaps. Some are done right and look good others are crap jobs.. Later Rick S

thats because skylines were never made for export to countries that had steering wheels on the left. and what a good choice it was of them... wee, r32s become available for the 15 year import rule soon. weeeee

I'll add my two cents worth. Nissan R32, 33, and 34 Skylines were produced primarily for the Japanese Domestic Market. 100 R32's found their way officially (via Nissan Australia) to Australia (we are also RHD) in the early 1990's after their track success here. Some R32's, 33's, and 34's were exported via the factory to Europe (this info is on Nissan's Global Web Site) to increase the marques image during the 90's and early 2000's. A shitload of others have been privately imported all around the world. In all cases they left the factory as RHD.

By the way RHD dashboards don't look weird to us Aussies!!

ok everyone.... left hand drive means the steering wheels on the right cause you shift with your left hand... hope this clears things up

nope sorry.. Left hand drive is the dash cluster (speedo) is on the left side when sitting in the car. So when your sitting in the drivers seat its on the left side of the car and you shift with your right hand.. Right hand drive is where the dash cluster(speedo) is on the right and you shift with your left hand.. Later Rick S.

Yes, I agree with phatmitsu. Right hand is when steering column is on the right, and left hand is when the steering column is on the left. This is probablt why our posts aren't making sense to you...? On the Testors, do they make an R32?

And, what does the "R" stand for anyway? Cause the Golf also has an R32 version. Is the G35 in Japan an R35?   Thanks!

its an abbreviation of the chassis code.. its common when talking about Nissan cars

BNR32 BNR33 BNR34 are R32, R33 and R34's respectively.

such as RPS13 RPS14 RPS15 are S13 S14 and S15 chassis (silvia/240's)

its just easier to say I have a S14 then I have a RPS14 I suppose

P.S. the G35 is the Skyline in Japan, yes yes. ;)

The R doesn't stand for anything, it's just part of the chassis code... that being R32. Letters before the R32 denote body type (2dr, 4dr etc) or engine type. Any letters after it denote things like transmission type, emission equipment etc.

So for example with the early 70's Skyline, the models chassis code is C10. A 2000GT sedan is a GC10. There's no engine designation letter as it has the base engine for that model (an L20A) and the G means it is a long wheelbase version but the GT-R is a PGC10 where, P = S20 engine and G = long wheelbase. A coupe GT-R is a KPGC10, where the extra K means coupe. The modern Skyline chassis codes work in the same way but using different letters.

The same applies to all Nissan models. :iceslolan
