i have coilovers right now and i want to switch to lowering springs. is 3" drop too low for a 89 hatch with a bodykit??
i don't want my kit scraping the ground everytime i see speed bumps.
and will an EG springs fit my car??

IMO that is way too low. Unless you live in a town of makebelieve where there is no pot holes or speed bumbs. That wont be much fun in the snow either, unless you are going to make money plowing peoples driveways.

3" is not practical for everyday driving - IMO no more than a 2" drop, lower than that and your ride quality really begins to suffer due to minimal suspension travel. You need very good springs, nice shocks, camber kit, alignment. If I were lowering a car that low I would use high quality adjustable coilovers - the real kind.

:iagree: In my opinion anything more than 2" doesn't look good. My friend had an '89 hatch with a full kit all primered and lowered 3-4" on steelies and it looked like shit...it was just way too low and didn't look good.

Besides it looking like shit, how shitty does it ride? Nice and bouncy, I would guess. You can't even drive a car like that hard cause your too busy trying not to bottom out or scrape. What fun is that?
