im pretty sure that it is electronically governed....i know like companies like hypertech and jet make programmers where you can adjust the govenor..but neither of them fully get rid of the govenor...i have the hypertech and the highest you can set the top speed is 128mph and the rpm is 6100. i only know one guy that got rid of his govenor completely and he used to work for chevy. but other than that all i know is the people that have the programmers.

i have a 95 silverado and i dont know much about that and i wanna re-program the govenor or somethin to get rid of it as much as can. any ideas or information on that? i was told by a very unrealible source that it is under the floor, underneath the gas petal. i dont know if this is true or not either.

The governor is computer controlled. The only way to remove it is with a custom tune or a tune done with ls1edit. My superchips programmer let me tune mine to z rated tires. I've taken it up to 128 before me and the Maxima I was beside ran out of room and we had to slow down. Jet performance makes a pretty cheap little device that doesn't give you any performance gain, but it does allow you to set your shift points and increase the speed limiter. Check out their website I think its www.jetchip.com.
