The paint job is awesome dude. I love the blue, then the silver. Keep the wing off, gives it a much better look.

Slightly better picture - I'll have to wait till next weekend before I can get some daylight pics as it's dark when I leave for work and dark when I get home which sucks

Nothing much on the tv so decided to spend a couple of hours polishing out the clearcoat :naughty: - hopefully more progress over the weekend.

I've got an old polishing kit (can't remember who its made by) - usually start with 3600 until I get a flat surface and then progress through 4000,6000,8000 & 12000 grades, polish with Micro Gloss polish & finish off with Tamiya wax.

Would that be a 4'' tip, or 4'' exhaust piping'?

A bit more progress yesterday - window trim sprayed satin black, lights installed and mesh grille fitted. Just to add fuel to the no wing/Evo/GT debate here's a couple of pics with SAS wing :naughty: - I'm going to have to made a decision soon!. Anyway off to spray the interior now.

clean, very nicely done. Maybe if you did the side struts of the GT wing it'd look even better. just some pennies tho.

I haven't completed the GT wing fully yet - It's just mocked up at the moment as I'm still not sure which wing to use.

i prefer the evo wing... think the GT wing (as awesome as it is) is overused on skylines.,. the evo wing is unique...

I'm voting Evo wing as well. It seems to fit the look of the car much better, especially since it wears the Mica Blue very well.

Honestly, I'm psyched to see the chassis work for this one. Haven't seen any pics where the body wasnt just resting on the tires, so naturally I'm quite curious about that.

Ive been a little quiet of late due to pc issues, trying to catch up,but this is very worthy of comment and I must say its very 'Kellogs branflakes' Those who know the tv ad you will know what I mean. I agree that these look awsome with the wings but that evo style wing would be different. Currently working on the SAS nismo skyline, pics soon. Keep it up Andy :ylsuper:

I must admit I haven't got round looking at the chassis yet - I'd like to drop the ride height a bit from stock but I'm going to have to figure out whether it can be done using the stock suspension parts or if it'll require another solution - I'll keep you posted (this one seems to be taking for ever but I'm only really working on it at weekends as I'm knackered from work during the week ).

BTW -Thanks to everybody for the comments

this may seem kinda newbish but wht do you paint the parts while still on the tree (never done this way before)

i do this too.

its so that there is something to hold onto the piece with while its been painted. That way you get no fingerprints on the part. the only probelm is that when it comes time to remove the parts from the tree you are left with small unpainted areas that need touching up. you could tape the parts to a stick instead, but sometimes this makes life even more difficult...

if your airbrushing parts it makes life much easier if they are still on the tree. in the case of the door cards the mounting to the sprue is in a place that wont affect the paint which is a good thing. but some others have mountings in obvious places. i sometimes cut the piece off the sprue, reshape the sprue and temp glue it back on.

I too leave as much as I can on the trees, as I use a spray can for most things satin black etc, I tape as many srues as possible to a plastic chop stick I have, it actually looks like a tree sometimes, but has the advantage that if set up properly you can rotate the chopstick in your hand and get better coverage and less wastage, the real trick is to remove as mant attachment points as possible but keeping at least one good one per item.

Hey andy, I'm working on an R31 fujimi drift machine. And I was thinking of painting the care with graphite metallic and doing the lil graphic like yours in testors sapphire blue. but, I guess I wont now, cause that'd be copying.
