What the hell did you put in in your car? Will it fit in a 95 geo Metro? THat looks great!!!!!

Not really, the strut bar may fit,but i'm not sure.
You could always swap the engine for a 89-94 gti/gt engine, but the wiring would be a pain in the ass.
The coils are H&R and I think they fit the newer body style.
Other than that, the air filter is a universal one with an adapter for a Nissan. The Crane coil is universal.
The rims are original gt alloys and would fit your car and the bodykit is original and wont fit.
I think that's all,if you got other ? just ask,I'll most probably respond.

I didn't know there were Swifts in America. There's heaps of them in Australia. They're very popular cars here, with one such example holding the the title of Fastest FWD in Australia for quite a while.
What are your plans for the future? There's plenty of HOT looking bodykits available from Australia and there's even a couple of turbo kits available too.
Here's one heavily modified example:

no bodykits for me,although I wouldn't mind the factory fender extension to git wider wheels.
In the future, probably an exhaust and a turbo or maybe a lil shot of nitrous.

ive allway like the look of the swift gti's, but i test drove one once, and it just wasnt there. was it just that car, or are they all slow un-modded?

They were very quick in their day. The GT/GTi would pull an 8 second 0-60 time which doesn't seem quick today, but in 1989, that was up there with a number of V8 American cars. And definitely not bad for a $9,000 car.

That is actually pretty damned impressive- It's a shame that these days the Hungarian built Swift is just a mere shadow of its former self :(

that's funny...here in the states the swift gets as much play as a metro:D the only good thing about them here is gas milage.....i could be wrong, there may be a couple sects out there dedicated to customizing their swift:confused: but like most if not all imports....we don't get the good versions

hey Blu civic
In USA swift GTI has speed limiter. European, southamerican and asian GTI's has 220Km/h speedo, and with little mods are really fast!!
You must think about the weight of the car...

In the US, we did get the good version. I have one. It seems that many people haven't taken the time to look at them.
The Swift GTi/GT is a nice little pocket-rocket and was better than many much larger (and more expensive) cars when it came out in 1989. The car only weighs 1,800 lbs and produces 100hp in stock trim. I've seen them modified AWD (Suzuki produced AWD components for various Swift models in other countries) and boosted to 400hp. The Swift GT should not be confused with the base Swift or the Chevrolet/Geo Metro.
Those who know what they are know that the gas mileage they get is NOT "the only good thing about them."

Hey, gotta give credit to the swifts blu. I've got a 91' metro convertible with a modded swift GTi engine, and it'll run with an automatic mustang GT. I had a 91' swift GT I used as a donor car because of frame rust. The engines push about 100hp stock, and they'll run with a 180hp Civic Si with just an exhaust and air intake. And PLPD insurance with a good drivin record, ya only pay $50/month here in Michigan, and 30+mpg, where can ya go wrong?

The Swift Gti in the US is pretty quick. I used to have one and in stock form I beat a 95 Mustang GT and a B18 powered Civic hb. I plan on getting another one and fixing it up.

here in sydney swifts were everywhere and most were modified in some way. then came the subaru wrx and all the wankers sold their gti's. i bought mine new in 94 and have had heaps of fun in it. usual mods of huge stereo (130 db) lowered with koni suspension and cross drilled discs. handles awesome and can even keep up with a porsche on eastern creek raceway through the corners. no engine mods other than full synthetic oil in motor and the gearbox and air cleaner. exhaust is still same size minus resonator. suzuki had already got most of the power out of the 1.3 so why go and stuff it up. biggest gain was full syn oil in gearbox had a bodykit but took it off because now i'm 30 i look like a dickhead in a kid's car. do you guy's in the US get hassled by the cops for your cars mods. we can't do to much that isn't illegal somehow
great car for corners but for speed buy a bike

Nice GTi!!! I'd put a photo up but U's would put my poor darling too shame... It's front end is in primer and it needs proper Gti Guards... As well as it needs new wiring through out... Unfortunately I don't have the money... Although when it gets done I'll put a pick up...

Just curious Hudson as too what year GTi you were speaking about and whether it was standard factory stock or what... Cause I have a 1987 GTi which is 1,130 kg / 2,491 lbs and it is supposed to be the lightest of the GTi's

err...im lost...mu mum owns a swift. that being a 3 cylinder, sub 1 liter eco-box. The busa's engine is 30% larger and delivers 3'5 times the power...now thats economical for you :grinno: delivering a whopping 52hp (i think) not even sure wether that is to the wheelsor not ... :cwm27:
I come on here and i hear them fast and im confused. I take it the gt version has an upgraded engine but im lost... :eek7:
It is a 00' model i think. I am from britain is this a totalyy different car??

Busa also has a lot smaller internal parts. The lighter internals allow the engine to run far more efficient, and also less environment and noise laws on motorcycles. But yea. The 3 bangers were made for no more than transportation and 40+mpg. http://memimage.cardomain.net/member_images/2/web/398000-398999/398523_21_full.jpg
