Since the introduction of the new CTS-V rumors have been going around about an XLR-V coming out. I don't have any information on it but if anybody else does post it here. Pictures, links, specs, anything is good.

I haven't heard anything of it. I would love to see a higher powered XLR, but at over $75,000 now, I shudder to think of what a V-model will cost...

Well almost a year ago, Motor Trend had a small article on the XLR. They mentioned rumors of an XLR-V and speculated that there would be a twin-turbo Northstar 4.6 V8 making in the neighborhood of 450 horses. That would dissapoint me, the turbos. Bring on the cubes, it's what they did with the CTS-V. Now keep in mind, this article was before the XLR was in showrooms, so I strongly doubt any of this is valid, but it would be nice.

I talked with the guy at the xlr booth at NAIAS today, and he said that there would be a xlr-v. (Of course, who knows how much this guy really knows), along with v-versions of alot of the other caddy cars.

According to an article on Autoweek.com, GM is building a new plant for high performance, low volume engines. They have also announced intentions to build V Series Escalades. I think an XLR-V is a certainty.

This months R&T has a pic of the XLR-V on the cover along with the STS-V and CTS-V. So i assume it was cought testing on the Nurmbourgh (or hovever its spelled). Perhaps it will be released in late 05 as an 06 model. After that, expect an DTS-V (after the redesigned DeVille debuts) and then an Escalade-V (ETS-V?) and mabey an SRX-V (I wouldn't be too fond of that one). thats all i know so far.
Expect the XLR-V the have the same 4.4/4.6 liter 32-valve V-8 as the STS-V. Resulting in 440 bhp, possibly more. i'm sure somone else has info on it.
