Great read. Thanks for the link. It's easy for me to explain why I think the McLaren is "worth it" because of articles like this. If you increase the cost of research and materials and decrease the production volume that those costs have to be spread over, obviously the unit costs go up astronomically.

I wish McLaren had made 5,000 cars.
